You have realize that Google has raised quality bar for sites to rank higher in SERP so they’ll always want to rank articles that are better and answers user queries.

So when you check online for articles that teach you how to write content that ranks higher in Google, you’ll often hear internet marketers asking you to write long form content.

 Now What Is Long Form Content?

  The required number of words in an article that can be called long-form content means different things to different people.

It’s believed that the shortest number of what you can to be taken seriously for ranking in Google is 300 words.

Some internet marketers to tell you to write at least 900,  others 1500,  why top internet marketers will ask you to write at least 2000 words worth of contents if you’re to be taken seriously by Google.

Now the question remains….

 Is It A Must To Write 2000+ Words To Rank In Google?

From a personal point of view I don’t think you need to shoot out two thousand words in every article to ranks higher in SERP.

However, there is a reason why successful blogger and internet marketers insist that you write long from contents.

If it does not work or hasn’t been working for them they won’t insist that you write such articles.

There is a reason why long-form contents rank higher in search results.

It is not because it has the highest number of words, but mathematically speaking, there is a higher chance of keywords in your article being by typed by users in Google.

The higher the number of keywords in your article coupled with LSI keywords, the higher the chances of your posts turning up in search queries.

Also, a combination of keywords, related terms and synonyms helps Google understand what your article is all about so it knows where to rank it.

So you see that writing 2000 plus was not just about piling up words in your article but about improving your chances of getting ranked easily.

So There’s No Hope For Short Articles?

I can categorically tell you that there is hope for short articles in Google search results.

I have seen articles about 300 words ranking higher than articles with more than 1500 words.

But the truth about such articles ranking higher than bulky articles because they answer the query specifically with the rights keywords that users input into Google.

So if you want to write short articles, you should ensure you pick out a question and answer it specifically.

Most importantly it has to do with your title.

If you have a short article and users enters keywords that are nearly related to your title, there is a chance that you might rank high.

That said, you should know that Google does not put much emphasis on ranking articles that are exact match titles with search terms.

While a title can help, it is not always the case. You can carry out your own research and input any search term you can think of.

The chances that articles that are in there and long form with about 2000 words plus contents will rank higher before short form content.

From my personal research I’ve come to notice that short articles are disappearing from search results.

So it’s only a matter of time before sites with lots of short articles will begin to lose ranking except if your domain name has high authority.

What is LSI And Its Role In Ranking?

The meaning of LSI is Latent Semantic Indexing. These are most times the search terms you see at the end of a search result or search terms you see in auto-complete when typing  a query.

There is a reason why it is recommended that you include LSIs in your post. It is more about helping Google understand what your posts are all about.

LSI is another indicator that you dealt with a topic wholesomely which can help you rank higher in SERP.

Google just wants to rank the best pages where users can find the answers they are looking for. LSI keywords are almost similar to synonyms of targets keywords but in another way.

When you are able to add the right amount of combination, you are on your way to achieving top ranking in Google’s search results.

While some bloggers and internet marketers desire to write in-depth contents in their thousands, some of them don’t know how to write lots of words.

I can tell you that it’s possible if you give it a trial.

In this blog you will find articles of different lengths including long form content and short form content.

What I do is write as much as I know about a topic in question.

I don’t count words I just consider the users and try to answer that question as much as I can.

Once I am done I don’t force words so as to increase workout because I know Google doesn’t count words in the page.

Article length a number of words in a page and not ranking factors – that I can assure you.

So if it takes me 800 words to answer a query, then that is what you will find on a page.

If it takes me six thousand words to answer a query, that is what you will find on my page.

I try as much as I can put to users first when writing an article, then I can worry about the article length later on.

I try to satisfy users and provide all the answers users are looking for in an articles and in my site,  I am sure to win their hearts and get them coming back for more.

If users are impressed with what I offer and share it on their own and linked to it, I believe Google will rank my site higher because user experience happens to be a ranking factor.

So why not think about users first and give them what they want in your site and worry about article length later on.
